## Biography

Aaron I. Butler is an American film and television editor and producer. He graduated from UC Berkeley, where he studied pre-law and theatre, and began his career in the late 1990s at the Saul Zaentz Film Center in Berkeley, working with documentary director Bill Jersey.

Butler’s early credits include the documentary series The Rise and Fall of Jim Crow (2002) and HBO documentaries such as American Winter (2013) and Cries from Syria. He moved into features with I Am Michael (2015) and J.T. LeRoy (2018), and edited the IMAX film Jesus Is King (2019). He is best known for his work as an editor on the HBO series Euphoria (2019–), contributing to seasons 2 and 3, and on The Idol (2023).

Butler has won two Emmy Awards, including a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Drama Series for his work on Euphoria, and has received multiple ACE Eddie Award nominations.
