Born in Brooklyn, New York, he attended the University of Southern California, where he played college football as an offensive guard and was selected as an All-American in 1932 and 1933. He later worked for nearly fifteen years as an assistant director at 20th Century-Fox before turning to producing in the late 1940s. Rosenberg produced more than sixty films and television projects. His credits include *Winchester '73* (1950), *Bend of the River* (1952), *The Far Country* (1954), *The Glenn Miller Story* (1954), *Man Without a Star* (1955), *Night Passage* (1957) and *Move Over, Darling* (1963).
