## Biography

Abdel Aziz Khalil (عبد العزيز خليل) was an Egyptian actor. He was born in Cairo on 26 May 1887 and died there on 11 February 1969.

He began his career in the theatre, working with the troupes of George Abyad, Salama Hegazy and Mounira El Mahdeya. Khalil was a founder of the Egyptian Actors' Syndicate in 1942 and served as its first president. He appeared in numerous plays and became known for villain roles.

Khalil acted in films from the silent era onwards. His credits include *Cairo Station* (1958), in which he played Abo Gaber, *The Will* (1939) and *Mr. Omar* (1941).
