Abe Vigoda was an American actor. Born Abraham Charles Vigoda on 24 February 1921 in Brooklyn, New York, he died on 26 January 2016.

He began his stage career in 1947 with the American Theatre Wing and worked in theatre for many years. Vigoda first gained wide recognition for his role as Salvatore Tessio in *The Godfather* (1972) and *The Godfather Part II* (1974). He played Sgt. Phil Fish in the television series *Barney Miller* (1975–1982) and the spin-off *Fish* (1977–1978).

Later credits include *Look Who's Talking* (1989), *Joe Versus the Volcano* (1990), *Good Burger* (1997) and voice work as Salvatore Valestra in *Batman: Mask of the Phantasm* (1993) and as himself in *Family Guy* (1999). He continued acting into his nineties.
