## Biography

Adam Dawson (20 March 1913 – 29 January 2010) was a Scottish film and television editor. Born in Edinburgh, he was educated at Edinburgh Academy, Stowe School and The Queen's College, Oxford, where he was president of the university film society. He served in the Royal Berkshire Regiment and, from 1942 to 1946, edited and produced training films for the Army in India.

Dawson subsequently worked at Nettlefold Studios and for the BBC. His television credits include episodes of *Z-Cars*, *Doctor Who* and *Till Death Us Do Part*. Among his film editing credits are *Knight Without Armour* (1937), *The Glass Mountain* (1949) and *Mr Drake's Duck* (1951). He edited the *Doctor Who* serial *Spearhead from Space* (1970).
