## Biography

Adele Comandini (29 April 1898 – 22 July 1987) was an American screenwriter. Born in New York City to Italian immigrant parents, she began her career in Hollywood in 1926 with the adaptation *Subway Sadie* and went on to write screenplays for more than twenty films and television episodes.

She received an Academy Award nomination for Best Story for *Three Smart Girls* (1936), on which she also wrote the screenplay. Her other credits include *Beyond Tomorrow* (1940), *Strange Illusion* (1945) and *Christmas in Connecticut* (1945). Comandini also wrote the 1956 biography *Doctor Kate, Angel on Snowshoes* and edited the 1936 book *I Saw Them Die*.
