Adina Elizabeth Porter is an American actress. She trained at the High School of Performing Arts in New York City and graduated with a BFA from the State University of New York at Purchase. She began her career in theatre, winning an Obie Award in 1996 for her performance in the Off-Broadway production *Venus* and making her Broadway debut in the 2001 revival of *The Women*.

Porter is known for her television roles as Lettie Mae Thornton in the HBO series *True Blood* (2008–2014), Kendra James in the HBO series *The Newsroom* (2012–2014), and Indra in the CW series *The 100* (2014–2020). She has also appeared in multiple seasons of the FX anthology series *American Horror Story* (2011–present) and in guest roles on series including *Grey's Anatomy*, *House* and *Law & Order: Special Victims Unit*.
