## Biography

Adolf Schlyssleder, also credited as Adolph Schlyssleder and with variant spellings, was a German film editor, assistant director and occasional director. Born in Munich in 1909, he trained at a photography school after secondary education and began working in film in 1937 as an assistant director.

He directed one feature, the 1942 comedy *Der Hochtourist*. From 1944 he worked primarily as an editor on numerous German entertainment films, many of them Bavarian comedies produced by Peter Ostermayr. In 1955 he edited the German version of Max Ophüls’ *Lola Montès*. He continued editing into the 1970s, including television productions, and was associated with Bavaria Studios in Munich. He died in Stephanskirchen in 1995.
