## Biography

Adrian Scott was an American screenwriter and film producer. He began his career writing for magazines before moving to Hollywood in 1939, where he worked as a screenwriter on films including *Mr. Lucky* (1943).

At RKO, Scott produced several films directed by Edward Dmytryk, including *Murder, My Sweet* (1944), *Cornered* (1945) and *Crossfire* (1947). The latter, which addressed anti-Semitism, received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. He also produced *The Boy with Green Hair* (1948).

Scott was one of the Hollywood Ten. He refused to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1947, was convicted of contempt of Congress, served a prison sentence and was subsequently blacklisted.
