## Biography

Akira Sakuragi is a Japanese production designer. He was born on 11 April 1937 in Wakayama Prefecture.

Sakuragi worked as production designer on *The Return of Godzilla* (1984) and *Rebirth of Mothra 3* (1998). He received art direction credits on Akira Kurosawa's *Dreams* (1990) and served as art director on *The 8-Tomb Village* (1996) and *The Samurai I Loved* (2005). He has received three nominations for the Japan Academy Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction.
