## Biography

Al C. Ward (24 September 1919 – 9 October 2009) was an American television writer and producer. Born in Garland, Arkansas, he began his career in the film industry as an executive secretary to producer Hal Wallis before turning to freelance writing in the early 1950s.

Ward contributed scripts to numerous series, including *Perry Mason* (1957), *Rawhide* (1959), *12 O’Clock High* (1964) and three episodes of *The Fugitive* (1963). He also wrote screenplays for the features *Please Murder Me!* (1956) and *The Black Pirates* (1954), and provided an uncredited adaptation for the 1977 re-release of *Godzilla*. He created and produced the medical drama *Medical Center* (1969–1976), for which he received a Western Heritage Award in 1967 for his work on *The Monroes* (1966).
