## Biography

Al Clark (1902–1971) was an American film editor. He began his career in 1933 at Tower Productions and from 1934 worked primarily at Columbia Pictures, where he edited more than 120 films over nearly three decades.

Clark received five Academy Award nominations for Best Film Editing: for *The Awful Truth* (1937), *Mr. Smith Goes to Washington* (1939, shared with Gene Havlick), *All the King's Men* (1949, shared with Robert Parrish), *Cowboy* (1958, shared with William A. Lyon) and *Pepe* (1960, shared with Viola Lawrence). He also edited television series including episodes of *Perry Mason* (1963–1965) and *I Dream of Jeannie* (1965), and received an Emmy nomination for his work on *Ben Casey*.
