## Biography

Alain Delon was a French actor. He was born Alain Fabien Maurice Marcel Delon on 8 November 1935 in Sceaux, France, and died on 18 August 2024.

Delon appeared as Rocco Parondi in *Rocco and His Brothers* (1960), Piero in *L'Eclisse* (1962), Tancredi Falconeri in *The Leopard* (1963) and Jef Costello in *Le Samouraï* (1967). He also worked with directors including Luchino Visconti, Michelangelo Antonioni and Jean-Pierre Melville.

He won the César Award for Best Actor for his performance in *Notre histoire* (1984). He received an honorary Golden Bear at the 45th Berlin International Film Festival and an honorary Palme d'Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.
