## Biography

Alain Marcoen is a Belgian cinematographer. He studied at the Institut des Arts de Diffusion (IAD) in Brussels and began his career as a lighting technician before working as a camera operator and director of photography.

Marcoen has been the regular cinematographer for directors Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne since *La Promesse* (1996). His credits with them include *Rosetta* (1999), *The Son* (2002), *The Child* (2005), *Lorna's Silence* (2008), *The Kid with a Bike* (2011), *Two Days, One Night* (2014) and *The Unknown Girl* (2016). He has also worked on other features such as *Gimme Shelter* (2013) and *600 Miles* (2015).
