Alan Freedland is an American writer and producer. He was born in Evanston, Illinois. His early writing credits include episodes of *The Nanny* (1993).

Freedland wrote multiple episodes of the animated series *King of the Hill* (1997) and served as a producer on the show from 1998 to 2002. He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program in 1999 and received further nominations. He has frequently collaborated with writer Alan R. Cohen.

His other credits include writing for *American Dad!* (2005) and the screenplay for the film *Due Date* (2010). He has also worked on the *The Strangers* film series, including *The Strangers: Chapter 1* (2024).
