## Biography

Alan Jay Glueckman (1944–2015) was an American screenwriter and producer. He began making short films as a teenager and later attended an intensive film workshop at the New School in New York, where he wrote and directed the 1977 short *Pickup*, starring Glenn Close in her first screen role.

After moving to Los Angeles in 1977, he wrote screenplays for several feature films, including *Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker* (1981, also known as *Night Warning*), *Russkies* (1987), *Gross Anatomy* (1989) and *The Fear Inside* (1992). He also contributed scripts to television series such as *Swamp Thing* and *Xena: Warrior Princess* (1996). In later years he worked on interactive web content and co-founded the music collaboration platform eJamming.
