## Biography

Alan Pattillo was a British film editor, director, script editor and writer. Born in Aberdeen in 1929, he entered the film industry in the 1950s and worked extensively with Gerry and Sylvia Anderson on Supermarionation series including Supercar, Fireball XL5, Stingray and Thunderbirds (1965–1966), for which he directed four episodes, wrote seven and served as script editor on twenty-five.

Pattillo edited Nicolas Roeg’s Walkabout (1971) and had earlier worked as sound editor on Roeg’s Performance (1970). He shared a Primetime Emmy for editing the 1979 television film All Quiet on the Western Front and was associate editor on Gandhi (1982). He died in Salisbury in 2020.
