Alan R. Cohen is an American writer and producer. Born on 23 June 1964 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he began his television career in the 1990s.

He contributed as a writer, story editor and producer on the animated series *King of the Hill* (1997–2002), co-writing numerous episodes with Alan Freedland. His other television credits include episodes of *The Nanny* (1993), *American Dad!* (2005) and *The Freak Brothers* (2020–2023).

Cohen co-wrote the screenplay and story for the feature film *Due Date* (2010) with Freedland. He later wrote screenplays for *The Strangers: Chapter 1* (2024), *The Strangers: Chapter 2* (2025) and *The Strangers: Chapter 3* (2026). He has received one Primetime Emmy Award.
