## Biography

Alan Schoolcraft is a screenwriter, frequently working in collaboration with Brent Simons. He is credited as co-writer of the animated feature *Megamind* (2010) and story writer on *Penguins of Madagascar* (2014).

Schoolcraft and Simons met while studying at Emerson College. Schoolcraft previously worked in additional crew roles for the Coen brothers on films including *The Big Lebowski* (1998) and *O Brother, Where Art Thou?* (2000). The pair wrote *Megamind* as a spec script originally conceived for live action before its development as an animated film.

Schoolcraft has contributed to further entries in the *Megamind* franchise, including the short film *Megamind: The Button of Doom* (2011), the feature *Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate* (2024) and the series *Megamind Rules!* (2024).
