Alan Wareing is a British television director. He began his career at the BBC as an assistant floor manager and later as a production assistant on series including *Doctor Who*, before completing the BBC's director's course.

He directed the seventh Doctor serials *The Greatest Show in the Galaxy* (1988), *Ghost Light* (1989) and *Survival* (1989). Wareing has also directed episodes of *EastEnders*, *Casualty*, *The Bill*, *Emmerdale*, *Coronation Street*, *Wycliffe* and other series.
