## Biography

Alan Yang is an American writer, director and producer. He began his career writing for *Last Call with Carson Daly* and *South Park*, before joining the writing staff of the NBC sitcom *Parks and Recreation* (2009–2015), where he also directed two episodes.

With Aziz Ansari, Yang co-created the Netflix series *Master of None* (2015–2021). He received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series in 2016 for the episode "Parents", becoming one of the first writers of Asian descent to win in the category. Yang wrote and directed an episode of *The Good Place* (2016).

His other credits include the feature film *Tigertail* (2020), which he wrote and directed, and the series *Forever* (2018) and *Loot* (2022), both of which he co-created.
