## Biography

Alan Yentob (1947–2025) was a British television executive, producer and presenter. He joined the BBC as a general trainee in 1968 and rose through the ranks to hold senior positions including head of music and arts, controller of BBC Two and BBC One, and creative director from 2004 to 2015.

Yentob produced and directed documentaries for series such as *Omnibus* and *Arena*, of which he was editor from 1978 to 1985. From 2003 he edited and presented the arts series *Imagine...*. He received a CBE in 2024 for services to the arts and media.
