Albert Birney is an American filmmaker, writer and animator. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, he is based in Baltimore, Maryland, and studied film at Syracuse University.

He has directed or co-directed several feature films, including *The Beast Pageant* (2010, with Jon Moses), *Sylvio* (2017) and *Strawberry Mansion* (2021, both with Kentucker Audley), *Tux and Fanny* (2019), *Eyeballs in the Darkness* (2022) and *OBEX* (2025). He also created the *Tux and Fanny* video game and has acted in his own work, including as Mr. Sprinkly in *I Saw the TV Glow* (2024).
