## Biography

Albert Conti, also credited as Albert De Conti Cadassamare, was an Austrian-American actor. He played Kuschka in *The Eagle* (1925) and The Lieutenant in *The Black Cat* (1934).

Born in Austria-Hungary in January 1887, he studied law before serving as an officer in the Austrian army during the First World War. He emigrated to the United States in 1919 and entered the film industry as a technical advisor on Erich von Stroheim’s *Merry-Go-Round* (1923). Conti appeared in numerous silent and sound films, including uncredited roles in *Freaks* (1932) and *Morocco* (1930), and later worked in the MGM wardrobe department until his retirement.

He was married to Miriam Wherry, née Patricia Cross. Conti died in Hollywood, California, in January 1967.
