## Biography

Albert Riéra (1895–1968) was a French screenwriter, assistant director and later television director. He collaborated with Jean Vigo on two films, serving as assistant director on *Zero for Conduct* (1933) and contributing to the screenplay, adaptation and dialogue of *L'Atalante* (1934).

Riéra was born in Banyuls-sur-Mer and died in Paris. He also directed the short film *Le Pigeon* (1936) and wrote the screenplay for *La grande vie* (1951). In later decades he worked extensively in French television as a director and writer.
