## Biography

Aleksandra Demidova (Александра Тимофеевна Демидова) was a Soviet and Russian film producer and production manager. Born in Moscow on 1 October 1934, she graduated from the economics faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography before joining Mosfilm. She worked first as deputy director of pictures and later as director of films and executive producer on more than thirty productions.

Her credits include production management or producing roles on *Uncle Vanya* (1970), *Gentlemen of Fortune* (1971), *The Long Recess* (1973), *Romance for Lovers* (1974), *Stalker* (1979), *The Story of the Voyages* (1983), *Formula of Love* (1984), *To Kill a Dragon* (1988) and *Adam's Rib* (1991). Demidova taught the fundamentals of film production on courses organised by Mosfilm. She died on 29 October 2020.
