## Biography

Alex Hall is an American editor and director working in film and television. He began his editing career in 1995 with the feature *Girlstown* and has since contributed to numerous projects, including editing episodes of HBO's *The Wire*.

Hall edited nine episodes of the first season of *True Detective* (2014) and served as second unit director on several others. He also edited and directed episodes of *Treme* (2010–2013), directed episodes of *Law & Order* (from 2022), and has directed on series such as *The Deuce*, *Swagger* and *Law & Order: Organized Crime*. His feature editing credits include *The Messenger* (2009), *The Ledge* (2011), *The Tale* (2018) and *The Dinner* (2017). He has maintained long-term collaborations with producer David Simon on multiple series.
