Alex Herschlag is an American television writer, producer and stand-up comedian. He is best known for his work on the sitcom *Will & Grace*, serving as writer and executive producer from 1999 to 2006 and returning for the 2017 revival; he shared a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2000.

His other credits include writing and producing roles on *Ellen* (1996–1997), *Modern Family* (consulting producer and teleplay writer, 2010), *Hot in Cleveland* (2011–2015), *Mike & Molly* (2016) and *Man with a Plan* (2016–2017). He created the series *Broke* (2020). Herschlag was born in the Bronx, New York, and attended McGill University.

He is married to television writer Apryl Huntzinger.
