Alex Karpovsky is an American actor, director, screenwriter, producer and film editor. He was born on 23 September 1975 in Newton, Massachusetts, and studied at Boston University before pursuing a master's degree in visual ethnography at the University of Oxford.

He is best known for playing Raymond 'Ray' Ploshansky in the HBO series *Girls* (2012–2017), a role that earned him a Critics' Choice Television Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Other television credits include *Homecoming* (2018–2020) and *Curb Your Enthusiasm* (2000).
