Alex Pillai, also credited as Alex Sanjiv Pillai, is a British television and film director. He was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and trained at the National Film and Television School. His early television work included a break directing for actor and producer Sir Lenny Henry.

Pillai has directed episodes of series including *Midsomer Murders* (2012–2017), *Merlin*, *Da Vinci's Demons*, *Riverdale*, *Chilling Adventures of Sabrina*, *Bridgerton* (2022), *Walker*, *DI Ray* and *Doctor Who* (2024–2025). He also directed the feature *How to Date Billy Walsh* (2024). He has received the FIPA D'Argent and a Screen Nation Award.
