## Biography

Alex Reid is an American television writer, director and producer. He graduated from Clemson University with a degree in electrical engineering and began his career as a stand-up comedian in San Francisco before moving to Los Angeles to write for television in the late 1990s.

Reid wrote for and produced *Malcolm in the Middle* (2000–2006), winning a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for the episode “Bowling”. He has directed episodes of numerous sitcoms, including three episodes of *Brooklyn Nine-Nine* (2016–2017), as well as *The Middle*, *The Mindy Project*, *Life in Pieces*, *Young Sheldon* and *The Unicorn*.
