## Biography

Alex Weston is a composer of film scores and concert works. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in composition and worked early in his career as a music assistant to Philip Glass.

Weston composed the score for *The Farewell* (2019), directed by Lulu Wang, which was shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Original Score. He has collaborated with Wang on the series *Expats* (2023–2024) and scored other films including *Wander Darkly* (2020), *The Novice* (2021) and *The Adults* (2023). His concert works have been commissioned by groups including the Kennedy Center and the Venice Biennale. In 2024 he released the chamber music album *Memory Gaps*.
