Alfred Sweeney was an American art director and production designer. He was born on 18 December 1914 in Maine and died on 13 December 1984 in Santa Barbara, California.

He worked on approximately sixty films. Early in his career he was employed by Universal Pictures; he later freelanced. His credits include art direction on *Tarantula* (1955), *Revenge of the Creature* (1955), *Harper* (1966), *The War Wagon* (1967) and *The Bridge at Remagen* (1969), and production design on *Silver Streak* (1976), *Foul Play* (1978), *Stir Crazy* (1980), *Taps* (1981) and *Mr. Mom* (1983).
