## Biography

Ali Mosaffa is an Iranian actor and filmmaker. Born on 1 December 1966 in Tehran, he graduated in civil engineering from the University of Tehran. He made his acting debut in the 1991 film *Omid* and won the best actor prize at the Fajr International Film Festival the following year for his role in *Pari*.

Mosaffa is known for his performances in films including *Leila* (1996), *The Last Step* (2012), which he also directed, and *The Past* (2013), in which he played Ahmad. He married actress Leila Hatami, whom he met on the set of *Leila*, in 1999.
