## Biography

Ali Reza Zarrindast is an Iranian cinematographer. He was born in Tabriz, Iran, and is the brother of filmmaker Tony Zarrindast.

Zarrindast began working in the film industry in the 1960s as a camera operator and assistant. He served as director of photography on Abbas Kiarostami's *Close-Up* (1990), as well as *The Report* (1977) and *The Experience* (1973). He has also collaborated frequently with Mohsen Makhmalbaf on films including *The Cyclist* (1987), *The Nights of Zayandeh-Roud* (1990), *The Marriage of the Blessed* (1989) and *The Peddler* (1987).

Over a career spanning more than five decades, Zarrindast has worked on more than 100 films and television productions in Iran and elsewhere. He has received multiple awards for cinematography.
