## Biography

Allan Katz is an American writer, producer, actor and director. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he began his career as an advertising copywriter before moving to Los Angeles.

He wrote for Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In and contributed episodes to Sanford and Son, All in the Family and The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970). Katz later wrote and produced for M*A*S*H (1972), Rhoda and Roseanne (1988). He also wrote for and directed episodes of Blossom (1990).

Katz wrote and starred in the 1989 film Big Man on Campus. He has written librettos for musicals including Song of Singapore and taught writing at UCLA Extension and Lawrence University.
