## Biography

Allan Rich, born Benjamin Norman Schultz, was an American character actor. He began his career as a child and appeared in several Broadway productions in the 1940s and early 1950s, including *I'll Take the High Road* (1943) and *Darkness at Noon* (1951). He was blacklisted in the 1950s and later resumed acting, with film roles including D.A. Herman Tauber in *Serpico* (1973), Robert Kintner in *Quiz Show* (1994), Ben Heller in *Disclosure* (1994) and Judge Juttson in *Amistad* (1997).

Rich also worked extensively in television, with appearances in series such as *House*, *2 Broke Girls*, *CSI: Crime Scene Investigation* and *The Nanny*. He co-founded the non-profit organisation We Care About Kids, which produces educational short films for young people. He died in Englewood, New Jersey, in 2020.
