## Biography

Allison Anders is an American film and television director and screenwriter. She graduated from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television and made her feature debut with *Border Radio* (1987), co-directed with Kurt Voss.

Her independent films include *Gas Food Lodging* (1992), *Mi Vida Loca* (1993) and *Grace of My Heart* (1996). She has directed episodes of numerous television series, including *Sex and the City* (1998), *The L Word* (2004), *The Mentalist* (2008), *Orange Is the New Black* (2013) and *Riverdale* (2017).

Anders received a MacArthur Fellowship in 1995 and a Peabody Award in 2002 for *Things Behind the Sun* (2001).
