## Biography

Alma Har'el is an Israeli-American director, writer, producer and editor. Born and raised in Tel Aviv, she began working as a photographer and VJ before directing music videos and documentaries.

Her documentary *Bombay Beach* (2011) won the Tribeca Film Festival's best documentary prize and received an Independent Spirit Award nomination. *LoveTrue* (2016) won the Grand Prix for best documentary at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. She directed episodes of the series *DAVE* (2020).

Har'el made her narrative feature debut with *Honey Boy* (2019), for which she won the Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directing – First-Time Feature Film. She created, wrote, directed and edited the Apple TV+ series *Lady in the Lake* (2024).
