## Biography

Ama K. Abebrese is a British-Ghanaian actress, television presenter and producer. Born on 3 May 1980 in Kumasi, Ghana, she was raised in West London.

She began her presenting career as a teenager at YCTV in London and later worked on BBC2 and other channels. She attended Burlington Danes Academy, William Morris Sixth Form and St Mary's University, Twickenham. Her film roles include the mother in *Beasts of No Nation* (2015) and Pabi in *Sinking Sands* (2010). She won the AMAA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2011 for the latter.

Abebrese has also appeared in *Azali* (2018) and served as narrator and producer on *The Burial of Kojo* (2018). In 2024 she was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for the International Organization for Migration Ghana.
