Amanda Abbington is an English actress. She began her career with small roles in the television series *The Bill* from 1993 and went on to appear in series including *Coupling* (2000), *Being Human* (2009) and *Case Histories*.

She is known for her role as Mary Morstan (later Mary Watson) in the BBC series *Sherlock* (2014–2017), opposite Martin Freeman as John Watson. Other notable television credits include Josie Mardle in *Mr Selfridge* (2013–2016), Sophie Mason in *Safe* (2018) and Marissa Fittes in *Lockwood & Co.* (2023).
