Amie Huguenard was a physician’s assistant who appeared in archive footage in the 2005 documentary *Grizzly Man*, directed by Werner Herzog.

Born in Buffalo, New York, on 23 October 1965, she graduated with distinction from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1996 with a B.S. in molecular cellular developmental biology and later obtained an advanced degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. She worked as a physician’s assistant in Colorado before moving to California.

Huguenard accompanied Timothy Treadwell on several expeditions to Katmai National Park, Alaska. She and Treadwell were killed by a grizzly bear in the park in October 2003.
