## Biography

Amy Neil is a British writer and director. She directed two episodes of the Netflix political thriller series *Hostage* (2025).

Her television directing credits include episodes of *Hanna* (2019), *The Control Room* (2022), *Trust Me* (2017) and *Call the Midwife* (2015). She began her career while studying film and Japanese at Nihon University in Tokyo. Her short films include *The Child* (2011) and *Icicle Melt* (2010).

Neil is a BAFTA nominee and won a Scottish BAFTA for her debut short film *Can’t Stop Breathing*.
