Amy Toomin Straus is a television writer and producer, also credited as Amy Toomin. She holds a BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

She worked on *Friends* (1994) as co-producer on 24 episodes of season four and as writer, contributing stories and teleplays including episodes co-written with Jill Condon. She has written on the staff of ten series, including *Grounded for Life* (2001–2005), and co-written pilots for ABC and CBS as well as a screenplay for *Malcolm in the Middle*.

Straus has held producing roles on series such as *Ned and Stacey*, *Townies* and *The Geena Davis Show*. She has created branded content for Zillow and is in production on a documentary. She has taught or mentored at Chapman University and Stephens College.
