## Biography

Anchise Brizzi (1887–1964) was an Italian cinematographer. Born in Poppi, Arezzo, he trained in optics and photography before entering the film industry in the early 1910s. He worked on more than 100 productions through to 1963.

Brizzi served as director of photography on films including Vittorio De Sica's *Shoeshine* (1946), Orson Welles's *Othello* (1951), and several entries in the Don Camillo series. He shared the best cinematography award at the 1948 Locarno International Film Festival for *The Charterhouse of Parma*.
