## Biography

Anders Refn is a Danish film editor and director. Born on 8 April 1944 in Copenhagen, he graduated from the National Film School of Denmark in 1969 and has worked on dozens of features, television series, shorts and documentaries.

Refn edited *Breaking the Waves* (1996) and *Antichrist* (2009) for Lars von Trier, and served as assistant director on several of the director’s other films including *Dancer in the Dark* (2000), *Dogville* (2003), *Melancholia* (2011) and *Nymphomaniac* (2013). He has also edited *Max Manus: Man of War* (2008) and *The Party* (2017). In 2004 he received an Honorary Bodil Award for his contributions to Danish cinema. He is married to cinematographer Vibeke Winding and is the father of director Nicolas Winding Refn.
