## Biography

André Aciman is an Italian-American writer and professor. Born on 2 January 1951 in Alexandria, Egypt, he moved with his family to Italy in 1965 and to New York City in 1968. He holds a BA from Lehman College and an MA and PhD from Harvard University.

Aciman is a distinguished professor at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, where he teaches comparative literature. He is the author of the novel *Call Me by Your Name* (2007), which was adapted into a film in 2017, and the memoir *Out of Egypt* (1995), which received a Whiting Award. Other works include the novels *Find Me* (2019) and *Enigma Variations* (2017).
