## Biography

André Bac (born André Joseph Adrien Bachrich, 14 December 1905 – 31 May 1989) was a French cinematographer. He worked on Marcel Carné’s *Daybreak* (1939), credited alongside Philippe Agostini and Curt Courant.

Bac began as a photojournalist and entered feature filmmaking more fully after the Second World War. He is noted for his collaborations with director Claude Autant-Lara in the 1950s and with Yves Robert in the 1960s. His other credited films include *The Red Inn* (1951), *War of the Buttons* (1962) and *Carom Shots* (1963). He also directed the 1957 short film *Sérénade à l’aventure*.
