## Biography

André Turpin is a Canadian cinematographer, film director and screenwriter. He graduated in film production from Concordia University’s Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema in 1989.

As a cinematographer he has worked frequently with directors Denis Villeneuve and Xavier Dolan. His credits include *Maelström* (2000), *Incendies* (2010), *Tom at the Farm* (2014), *Mommy* (2014) and *It's Only the End of the World* (2016). He has won two Genie Awards for Best Cinematography, for *Maelström* and *Incendies*.

Turpin has also directed and written several films, including *Soft Shell Man* (2001), which was Canada’s submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. He is married to director Louise Archambault.
