## Biography

Andrea Galer is a British costume designer who works in film and television. She began her career contributing to the wardrobe for Julie Christie on *Don't Look Now* (1973), collaborating with Marit Allen, and later designed costumes for *Withnail & I* (1987).

After a ten-year break to raise her children, Galer returned to costume design in the mid-1980s and became known for her work on period productions. These include *How to Get Ahead in Advertising* (1989), *Firelight* (1997), *Mansfield Park* (1999), *Jane Eyre* (2006) and *Bleak House* (2005), for which she won a BAFTA Television Craft Award. She also received a Primetime Emmy Award for her costumes on *Jane Eyre*.
